Ukrainian LGBT+ refugees in Berlin: war, tears and love
Pre-premier screening in Budapest!

Short story about Ukrainian LGBT+ refugees in Berlin. The war came suddenly, taking away their home, work, and habitual way of life. Many members of the LGBT+ community in Ukraine have found their new home in Berlin. Berlin met them with sympathy and acceptance, giving them hope for a new life.

Nataliia Neshta is a Ukrainian LGBTQ refugee who was helped by Budapest Pride to get to Germany after Russia attacked Ukraine on February 24, 2022. Upon safely arriving to Berlin, she started making a short documentary film about LGBTQ refugees staying in Berlin with the support of Budapest Pride. The documentary shows what struggles they have to go through during these times.

We are happy to invite you to the pre-premier screening of the short documentary “Ukrainian LGBT+ refugees in Berlin: war, tears and love.”
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion in English with the creators of the documentary and about how the war affects the LGBTQ community of Ukraine.
The film will have English subtitles.
