At the Hungarian premiere screening of the documentary movie we can also learn about the life of several front-line gay rights activist of Village. The radical drag queen duo, Marsha and Sylvia Rivera had protested together from the 60’s against police brutality, and within the gay community they had fought for the recognition of transgender rights. In 1970, the first transgender legal organization, STAR was founded setting the movement that fought for the freedom of the gender variances on fire.
